Count Your Many Blessings.........

A little more detail regarding yesterday's sacrament meeting.  Four wards met at the Kingwood stake Center.  Most were wearing the yellow "Mormon Helping Hands" shirts.  Sitting on the stand and looking over the 400 plus members who had gathered together to partake of the sacrament was indeed something never to be forgotten.  The service began with "Count Your Many Blessings" which has taken on a whole new meaning after yesterday.  Men and women wept as we sang this song together.  Many have lost everything.  The words of this song are worth repeating.  As you read these words, imagine the strength, comfort, and encouragement from the Savior that was felt as we sang these inspiring lyrics.

When upon life's billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged thinking all is lost.
Count your many blessings; name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings; every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you his wealth untold
Count your may blessings; money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven nor your home on high.

So amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged God is over all.
Count your many blessings; angels will attend,
Help and comfort  give you to your journeys end.

Chorus:
Count your blessings; name them one by one
Count your blessings see what God has done.
Count your blessings, name them one by one.
Count your many blessings see what God hath done.

After the sacrament, the first counselor in the Kingwood Stake Presidency shared a few remarks that were so very up lifting.

He shared from Matthew 12:10-13 regarding healing on the Sabbath.  A beautiful and timely example.

Also, he told of a conversation between two teenage girls as told by their mom while driving in their car.  One girl said to the other, "Why didn't our home get flooded?"  The sister replied, "Because we get to be the helping hands this time."  So very profound.

He ended with a scripture in Matthew 22:37-39.  Love thy neighbor as thyself.

The closing song was "Love One Another."

There are no boundaries to lifting and loving others whether here in Houston or at home in Utah or wherever we are.  We feel so incredibly blessed to be able to witness the love, sharing, and kindness that EVERYONE here and at home have shown.

Please know that your prayers are indeed heard and felt and are carrying us through this entire experience.

As I sat in this sacrament meeting, I undoubtedly knew the Savior is very aware of every single one of us. He loves and cares for us no matter where we are.  It was comforting to say the least.

Please know you're loved more than you'll ever know.
